Life House
Our two children’s homes are being built in Ntola village and are called ‘Life House’. Ntola is a large village of approximately 250 people, just 40 mins drive from Brazzaville city centre. Life House will house a maximum of 16 children at a time and will have one house mother to every eight children.

The John Edwards Academy
Our first school the ‘John Edwards Academy’ will also be in Ntola Village and is being built to provide free education for the 100  primary school aged children of the village along with the ‘Life House’ children.
Without this school these children would not be able to have an education as the nearest school is 20 kilometres away.

Vulnerable Women’s Project

Our work with young women who have become involved in prostitution is designed to give these ladies another choice in life. We will be starting different micro enterprises to create employment for the women and we have a potential home for those in desperate need of accommodation. Alongside the micro enterprises we will be giving these women training in various skills such as craft and tailoring. We will also be running discipleship programs for these women to help them overcome past traumas.

Background
Life Support  began working in Brazzaville, Congo in 2010 after a piece of land was donated to us by Hortense Matoko, a Congolese woman living in London.  After a visit to Congo by Nathanael Edwards in September 2010 the Life Support Trustees agreed to support a proposal to build a school and homes for orphaned children in the village of Ntola. Whilst visiting Congo we also became aware of the desperate plight of young women who have entered into prostitution. Life support is running a project which aims to provide these women a way out of this lifestyle. The projects in Congo are run in partnership with ‘Rachel’s House’ an NGO set up by a group of Congolese professionals to work with the poor and vulnerable.
