Get involved

Fundraising

Life Support arrange a number of fundraisers throughout the year but we can’t do it all on our own. We really appreciate our supporters getting involved and arranging fundraisers in their local communities. If you would like to run a fundraiser but are stuck for ideas here are some to inspire you.

Host an Afternoon Tea Party

This fundraiser always goes down well, everyone loves tea and cake! Get lots of people to make cakes and bring them along. You can charge people an entry fee and then allow them to help themselves to as much tea, coffee and cake as they like. We have also found just asking for donations for the tea, coffee and cake to work really well too.

African Meal

Invite a few friends around for an African meal, maybe get them to dress up, make it a really special evening. We have known people to charge between £15 and £50 for the evening depending what is on offer! Lots of fun and a great way to raise funds for the work of Life Support.

Running

If you love running then how about running a 10k, half marathon or if you’re really brave a full marathon! Ask your friends and family to sponsor you, you may be surprised how much people will give.

Quiz Night

Quiz Nights always prove popular you can charge between £10 and £20 per head, depending on what’s on offer. Get someone to do a presentation half way through and top up the funds a bit more with a raffle at the end!

At any event remember…

Have literature about Life Support and our projects available for people to read and take away. Send us an email and we can get this over to you. We can usually provide some merchandise from Zambia if you would like to sell this at your event. Don’t forget we can gift aid donations and sponsorship in many cases.

Trips and Volunteers

We love having visitors to our projects in Zambia and a number of trips are arranged each year. If you are interested in visiting our work, then please do get in touch with us.
Life Support have a number of schools, churches and community groups that visit Eden Farm. The farm is well equipped for visiting groups, being able to accommodate groups of up to 30 people.

We are always looking for skilled volunteers who are willing to give their time to help us improve our skills and projects. We however also love having those that are just able to help out in any small way they can.

Zambia is a beautiful country and the people are very welcoming. If you choose to visit Zambia you won’t be disappointed.

Please be advised that due to the vulnerability of those we work with at Eden Farm, all applicants will need to provide references and you will need to agree and abide by our protection and behaviour policies.
